What Are Case Files?
Case Files are a dedicated space inside each issue where you can upload supporting materials — photos, inspection reports, test results, customer correspondence, spreadsheets, or any other file relevant to the investigation. They keep all your evidence organized alongside the data.
Where to Find Them
When viewing an issue, look for the Case Files tab. This is where all uploaded files for that issue are stored.
You can also upload files directly through the AI chat. When you do, they're added to Case Files by default so they stay with the issue for your team. You can toggle this off if you don't want the file saved to Case Files.
Uploading Files
Drag and drop files into the Case Files area, or click to browse and select files from your computer. Each file can be up to 50 MB, and all file types are accepted.
AI Summaries
One of the most powerful features of Case Files is automatic AI-generated summaries:
- Images: Photographs and screenshots receive AI summaries that describe what the image shows, extracting useful context like visible damage, labels, or conditions.
- PDFs: PDF documents receive summaries that extract key findings, data points, and conclusions.
- Other file types: Files like spreadsheets, Word documents, and other formats are stored and available for download, but do not receive AI summaries. If you want an AI summary of a Word document, convert it to PDF before uploading.
How Files Work with AI Chat
The AI chat can reference your Case Files during an investigation. When you upload a file through the chat, the AI can use it as context alongside your issue data. For example, you can upload a photo of a defect and ask the chat what it sees, or share an inspection report and ask it to summarize the findings.
Case File summaries are also included when the AI generates issue overviews and summaries, so your uploaded evidence is factored into the analysis automatically.
Important Behaviors
- AI summaries are helpful but not perfect. Always review the original files rather than relying solely on the summary.
- Even without AI summaries, all uploaded files are valuable as centralized storage. Having everything in one place makes collaboration easier.
Frequently Asked Questions

A: Only images and PDFs receive AI-generated summaries. Convert your Word document to PDF before uploading if you'd like an AI summary.
Q: Can I ask the AI questions about a specific file?
A: Yes. Upload the file through the AI chat and ask your question. The AI can analyze images and PDFs and use them as context alongside your issue data.
